Jamaica's currency is the Jamaican dollar (JMD).
The tourist areas of Jamaica will accept the US dollar as payment. Cash is still widely used by smaller businesses. Some even prefer cash over card payment, so having Jamaican dollars for purchases is a good idea.

English is Jamaica's official language. However, Jamaican Patois is a widely spoken dialect in the country.

Climate And Weather
Jamaica has plenty of warm temperatures and sunshine throughout the year. With their tropical climate, their average temperatures range from 77 to 85°F (25 to 29°C). It can be humid with occasional rain showers.
Jamaica experiences its rainy season from May through to November. Heavy rain showers are also possible, but pass quickly, so you'll enjoy the sunshine again in no time.
For a dry season experience, December through April is the best time. During these months, the weather is sunny and warm. However, there may still be rain showers late afternoon or evening.
Remember to check the weather forecast before your trip. It'll give you an indicator of what clothes to pack. Something lightweight and breathable is always a great way to go.
