The Walt Disney World Resort announced more details of the latest
nighttime spectacular from Disney Live Entertainment, “Luminous The Symphony of
Us,” debuting on December 5 at EPCOT.
The nighttime spectacular will feature dazzling fireworks,
fountains, lights and music to connect travelers to unique melodies to form a
great symphony. The show consists of a series of movements, each representing
life experiences and showing that we are more alike than different.
Punctuating these movements are two original songs written
just for the spectacular, as well as new arrangements of carefully selected
Disney songs we all know and love.
At the show's start, World Showcase comes to life with
voices from each pavilion welcoming visitors to this great gathering. With the
tap of a conductor’s baton, the first movement begins with the original song,
“Heartbeat Symphony.”
Using songs to take guests on an emotional journey—from
You’ll Be in My Heart to You’ve Got a Friend in Me and Into the Unknown—Disney
Live Entertainment will once again lean on Pinar Toprak to build the show’s
score.
Among the choir of voices lending their vocal talents to the
score are singer/songwriter Sheléa and the multi-talented Katharine McPhee.
Last month, Disney World revealed it would relaunch its Disney
After Hours events on January 10 at Hollywood Studios, on January 11 at
Magic Kingdom Park and on February 2 at EPCOT.
Lower wait times for attractions and a chance to explore the
park in the evening are just two benefits to the Disney After Hours Events,
which can be purchased with designated tickets.
