Celestyal, the cruise line specializing in the Greek Isles and beyond, has acquired a new vessel as part of the line’s fleet refreshment, debuting in March, 2024.
The new ship, the Celestyal Discovery, was built in 2003 and sailed under the AIDA Cruise brand, under Carnival Corporation. It will be remodeled ahead of its debut with Celestyal. The ship offers 633 staterooms, including 62 balconies and can accommodate up to 1,266 guests. The Celestyal Journey recently debuted this September, following its own refurbishment.
The Celestyal Discovery will take over Celestyal Olympia’s 2024 program, with itineraries and sailings released to book on December 11, 2023. Guests who have previously booked for Celestyal Olympia will be contacted and placed on Celestyal Discovery sailings instead.
The ship will showcase Celestyal’s brand favorites, including an amphitheater, the Grillseekers specialty restaurant, Sozo, a wellness retreat, a large pool deck, the Greek Deli, and a Fig and Honey gelato and juice bar.
“Give strong market and business conditions, we are thrilled to have expedited the renewal of our fleet to welcome the Celestyal Discovery into the Celestyal family,” said Christ Theophilides, CEO. “Celestyal Discovery joins the Celestyal Journey to undergo an extensive refurbishment program over the winter period, signifying further our intent to keep delighting our customers. As a confident challenger abroad, our team is excited to continue to make waves across the industry next season, with a refreshed fleet, brand, networks, and a renewed sense of direction.”
