Is air travel getting worse?
After traveling back-to-back weeks, I feel confident the answer is no – but it’s clear there is work to be done to improve.
However, air travel complaints continue to soar higher. And that’s just what the government is tracking. Surely the airlines are receiving direct complaints from consumers as well.
The general public is not thrilled about the air travel experience.
I can’t say I love it, because let’s be honest, majority of planes are not comfortable unless you’re paying the big bucks for first class seats.
But to me it’s not getting worse. Perhaps it’s because I travel more frequently than the average consumer or maybe it’s the fact that I’ve just accepted things for what they are with how planes are built.
Technology has helped in many ways from where things used to be, and that alone shows how air travel is becoming more streamlined.
Yes, the overall experience could be better. But I also think people are more apt to share their opinions these days and will take the time to file a complaint. It’s not getting worse; we’re just finally fighting back in making sure things do actually improve.
The airlines have us, and they know it. You want to visit Hawaii or Japan or South Africa? You know you’re not sailing the oceans like the old days.
