American Airlines is adding seven new routes to and from
popular vacation destinations in New England and Canada in the summer of 2024.
The carrier will add service for the first time to Hyannis,
Massachusetts (HYA), with new daily service from New York City’s LaGuardia
Airport (LGA) and Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), starting on June 5,
2024.
The addition of Hyannis makes American the only global
network carrier serving the airport, connecting more than 80 destinations
across North America with one stop to the gateway to Cape Cod.
“American continues to build a network that gives customers
the most comprehensive access to the places they want to visit with nine new
routes for next summer,” American Senior Vice President Brian Znotins said.
“New service to Hyannis, expanded service from New York, and
more international service grows the largest global network in the United States,
connecting more cities than any other U.S. carrier, for a summer like no other,”
Znotins continued.
The airline will also add service to five cities along the
Northeastern coast from LaGuardia, including operating the only service from
the airport to Halifax, Canada. The carrier is also adding new flights to Bangor and Portland, Maine, and Nantucket and Martha's
Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Resuming service for the first time since 2019, American
will begin nonstop flights between DCA and Bermuda (BDA) on April 4, 2024. In
addition, the carrier unveiled new summer 2024 service to Copenhagen, Denmark
(CPH); Naples, Italy (NAP); and Nice, France (NCE).
Tickets for the routes will be available for purchase on October
16, except the new service to Hyannis, which goes on sale on October 23.
