The Bahamas is one of our favorite holiday destinations. Not only is it one of the most beautiful places in the world but there are so many fun and exciting things to do in the Bahamas.
With over 700 islands in this Caribbean paradise, there’s a whole world to discover. Here’s our breakdown of the things you absolutely can’t miss out on.
Stop In At Pirates of Nassau Museum
We recommend starting your Bahamas vacation in Nassau, and one of our first stops is always the Pirate Museum. Here you can see recreations of ships from the nation’s heyday and several informative displays.
This is a great trip for the whole family, as kids will be thrilled by the interactive exhibits and dungeons to explore.
Take In Lucayan National Park
For nature lovers, there’s nowhere like Lucayan National Park. Not only is it a beautiful display of several different ecosystems, from beaches to mangroves, but it also has a special secret.
It’s home to the largest underwater limestone cave system in the world, making tours an experience unlike any other. In fact, it’s so massive that it hasn’t even been fully explored yet or recorded on maps.
Laze On The Pink Sand Beach
One of the exciting and most unique attractions of the Bahamas is the pink sand beach on Harbour Island. Pictures simply can’t capture just how marvelous this natural wonder is, and you really have to see it with your own eyes.
This beautiful beach gets its color from crushed pinks shells, which means that as pretty as the beach is, we definitely recommend wearing shoes as you walk along its three miles!
Have Fun At The Water Resort On Paradise Island
Part of the Atlantis resort is the Aquaventure water park. Atlantis is an absolute treat, but you don’t have to stay at this super luxurious resort to have some fun splashing around.
With 14 different pools and plenty of water slides, we love this as a day trip for both adults and families. It’s a great way to keep cool and have some adventure. Just make sure to remember your sunscreen!
Marvel At The Andros Barrier Reef
For some marine wonders, we suggest heading out to the Andros Barrier Reef, the 3rd largest barrier reef in the world. It’s our favorite spot in The Bahamas for seeing all sorts of sea creatures, from turtles and tropical fish to reef sharks.
Shop Til You Drop At Port Lucaya Marketplace
Something we never miss out on is the beautiful marketplace on Grand Bahama Island. Not only is the market full of treasures, but it’s also a treat for the eyes. The buildings are painted in vibrant turquoise, yellow, green, and pink.
Here you can pick up all sorts of trinkets and souvenirs from your Caribbean adventure. You’ll also find plenty of great places to eat divine cuisine and soak up the culture.
Head To The Bahamas Beach Club
If you’re looking for a place to go out on the town, we highly recommend the nightlife in Treasure Cay. The Bahamas Beach Club is part of a larger resort that features many wonderful attractions.
On a night out, you’ll find head-bopping music and a wide variety of delicious, brightly colored craft cocktails. You’ll be surrounded by both natural beauty and a luscious resort, with gorgeous ocean views.
Experience Junkaroo
One of the largest carnivals in the Caribbean, Junkaroo is celebrated at the beginning of summer, on Boxing Day, and on New Year’s Day. The streets of Nassau are full of floats and costumes.
The bright colors and vibrant attractions are a feast for the eyes and the music creates an infectious festive atmosphere. If you’re lucky enough to be in The Bahamas during Junkaroo, we recommend spending some time enjoying the carnival.
Experience The Wonders Of The Bahamas
Now that you know the top things to do in the Bahamas, you can start planning your next magical getaway. Whether you’re looking for natural wonders, vibrant culture, or a great night out, you’re sure to find it here!
