St Lucia, a small Caribbean Sea island, is home to boundless adventure. It houses plenty of adventure and fun experiences - from volcanic mountains to bustling nightlife scenes and everything in between.
Below, we have collected our picks for the best things to do in St Lucia to help you plan your trip.
Marigot Bay
Located to the west of the island, Marigot Bay is a popular destination for both tourists and Hollywood. While there, you might recognize the shore from some iconic movies, like Pirates Of The Caribbean and Dr. Doolittle.
Besides the spectacular views, we loved Marigot Bay because there was so much to do. From restaurants to shops to resort activities, this area is guaranteed to keep you busy for hours, if not days.
Anse Chastanet
The Anse Chastanet beach is a must-visit spot on St Lucia. The beach and town are beautiful and have many local excursions to keep the whole family busy.
But we think that the highlights of this spot are the snorkeling and water activities. The water is clear, the instructors are fantastic, and underwater fauna and flora are worth exploring.
Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens
Before you head to the beach, we recommend taking the time to visit the oldest botanical garden on St Lucia, the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens. The beauty of this region is hard to put into words but trust us when we say an hour or two isn't enough time to explore this lush area.
The waterfall, the history, and the mineral baths are fascinating. The trip through the gardens is also easy and we found the tour guides to be very friendly and informative.
Gros Piton
Get away from the lush growth of the botanical gardens and travel to the top of the Pitons, or Gros Piton. The Pitons, two volcano plugs that jut into the air, are one of the most iconic spots of St Lucia.
The trip through the greenery is amazing and the water is perfect for a swim. But none of that compares to the beauty of making it to the top. The view from the Pitons, of the ocean and the rest of the region, is worth trekking to the top over and over again.
Castries
If you’re ready to take a little break from nature walks and crystalline beaches, then head toward the capital city of Castries. While the region is still known for its beautiful coastal palm beach atmosphere, you’ll find many other activities to keep you busy.
Most notable are the shops. Castries is known for being home to hundreds of local independent stores and restaurants. But the part we enjoyed most was the Castries Central Market. Here you’ll find many beautiful local arts, crafts, foods, and drinks.
Pigeon Island National Park
The best sightseeing we did in St Lucia has to be at Pigeon Island National Park. The park had so much more to offer than what we’d come to expect of a nature park.
Besides the amazing natural landscape, hills, and lookouts, the park is also dotted with man-made attractions. From military ruins to a Jazz festival, the Pigeon Island National Park is guaranteed to fascinate and entertain you.
Sulphur Springs
Close your nose and open your eyes at St Lucia’s volcano! Before you get scared, don’t worry - the volcano doesn’t spew lava. It is a dormant volcano that features boiling hot springs, fumaroles, and plumes of its signature sulfur steam.
After taking a tour of the volcano, have a dip in the mud baths, which are believed to have healing properties. This is truly a unique experience that we recommend to anyone traveling to St Lucia.
