The Dominican Republic is quickly separating itself as one of the world's top luxury destinations.
The Caribbean's most-visited country boasts no shortage of spectacular boutique hotels and all-inclusive resorts but there are some that stand out.
Here are five luxe accommodations that travelers will want to have on their radar in 2023 and beyond.
Casa de Campo
Luxury in the Dominican Republic doesn't get much better than Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in La Romana. Dating back almost half a century, the country's first resort is also arguably the world's greatest golf resort.
The three Pete Dye golf courses include Teeth of the Dog, which has been ranked as the number one course in the Caribbean. Meanwhile, guests can look forward to as many as eight mouthwatering restaurants and a trio of private pristine white sand beaches.
Additional highlights include a marina, an Equestrian Center featuring polo and a shooting course.
"Seven thousand acres at Casa de Campo was fantastic. The service, the rooms, everything has just been amazing," Cynthia Hayes of Hayes Executive Travel told TravelPulse during the 2023 Dominican Republic TravFORUM earlier this month. "I could definitely see myself proposing that to our luxury clientele."
Sanctuary Cap Cana
For a sensational adults-only all-inclusive stay in Punta Cana, consider Sanctuary Cap Cana. The property recently underwent a $45 million modernization that's on display in the form of epic suites, inviting lobbies and common areas, updated restaurants and bars, an enhanced world-class spa and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
What's more, guests will have access to some of the best beaches and golf in the Caribbean as well as numerous opportunities for thrilling outdoor activities and adventure.
Eden Roc Cap Cana
One of the country's most awarded luxury properties, Eden Roc Cap Cana offers 65 premier accommodations, including boutique villas with their own private pools, lavish beachfront suites and exclusive ocean villas.
In addition to unparalleled luxury, guests can enjoy privacy and seclusion in one of the Caribbean's most beautiful locales. It should be noted that Eden Roc Cap Cana is the Dominican Republic’s only Relais & Châteaux member hotel, ensuring a one-of-a-kind stay.
"At Eden Roc, I just fell in love with the see-through walkway, the cenote, and the food has been really excellent. I really love the rooms too, they’re beautiful," said Hayes.
Amanera
Travelers seeking to immerse themselves in nature and adrenaline-pumping water sports will want to book a stay at the five-star Amanera in Playa Grande.
On top of breathtaking views, guests can unwind in a clifftop casita or live the A-list life in a two-bedroom casa with a private pool. Guests can also sample the best local flavors at three different dining venues, take part in rejuvenating healing traditions, go kitesurfing in an unparalleled setting and so much more.
Cayo Levantado Resort
For an unmistakably authentic Dominican experience on a private island, look no further than Cayo Levantado Resort.
The brand-new, upscale five-star all-inclusive resort boasts a pair of pools as well as six restaurants, eight bars, a gym, a wellness spa and beach access. Guests can also choose from suites or villas, some of which even feature private plunge pools and glorious beachfront views.
