2023 Travvy Awards Recognizes the Best Cruise Companies

Travel advisors have voted for their favorite cruise lines, river cruise lines and ships in the industry for the 2023 Travvy Awards! From the best expedition cruise lines to the best small ships sailing the seven seas, the Travvys feature a wide swathe of categories for advisors to vote for their favorites. Like the Olympics, the Travvys have a gold, silver and bronze award for each category.

Travel advisors have voted for the cruise lines with the best entertainment. Royal Caribbean International earned gold; Carnival Cruise Line earned silver; and Virgin Voyages earned bronze.

The best cruise line that sails Alaska is Princess this year. In second place is Royal Caribbean International, and in third is Holland America Line.

The best cruise lines in Asia are Royal Caribbean International, which earned gold; Princess, which earned silver; and Oceania Cruises, which earned bronze.

Travel advisors rated Royal Caribbean International the best cruise line in Australia, New Zealand the South Pacific region. In second place is Celebrity Cruises, and in third is Paul Gauguin Cruises.

The best cruise line in the Caribbean in 2023 is Royal Caribbean International. With a silver medal is Virgin Voyages, while Carnival Cruise Line earned bronze.

The best cruise lines in Central and South America are Royal Caribbean International, which earned gold; Celebrity Cruises, which earned silver; and Norwegian Cruise Line, which earned bronze.

Celebrity Cruises was voted as 2023's best cruise line sailing Europe. In second place is Royal Caribbean International and in third place is MSC Cruises.

Travel advisors agree that Norwegian Cruise Line should take the gold award for the best cruise line in Hawaii this year. Taking silver is Royal Caribbean International, while the bronze award goes to Princess.

The best cruise lines for the U.S. waterways are Viking, in first place; American Cruise Lines, in second place; and American Queen Voyages, in third place.

The best expedition or adventure cruise lines in 2023 are Celebrity Cruises, which earned gold; Viking, which earned silver; and Atlas Ocean Adventures, which earned bronze.

The best cruise line for families in 2023 is Disney Cruise Line, taking the gold award in this category. Royal Caribbean International earned silver, while Carnival Cruise Line earned bronze.

The best large cruise line, or those whose ships feature over 1,000 cabins, is Royal Caribbean International this year. In second place is Celebrity Cruises, with Virgin Voyages earning third place.

The best small-ship cruise line, or those whose ships offer under 500 cabins, is Windstar Cruises this year. In second place is Regent Seven Seas Cruises, while Seabourn earned third place in this category.

The year's best contemporary cruise lines are Royal Caribbean International, with gold; Norwegian Cruise Line, with silver; and Carnival Cruise Line, with bronze.

The year's best premium cruise lines are Celebrity Cruises, with first place; Virgin Voyages, with second; and Disney Cruise Line, with third place.

The year's best luxury cruise ships are Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Seven Seas Splendor, with gold; Seabourn's Seabourn Ovation ship, with silver; and Cunard's Queen Mary II, with bronze.

The year's best overall cruise ship, according to travel advisors, is Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas. In second place is Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Beyond, while Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Prima earned third place in this category.

Travel advisors agree that the year's best river cruise line sailing in Africa and Egypt is AmaWaterways. In second place is Viking, while third goes to Avalon Waterways.

The best river cruise line in Europe is AmaWaterways, followed by Viking in second place and Avalon Waterways in third place.
