Samsung Galaxy A53 5G vs iPhone SE 3: Which is better?

While flagships certainly get more media coverage, most consumers buy smartphones in the budget or mid-range segment. If you’re in the market to buy such a phone in 2022, the Galaxy A53 5G and iPhone SE 3 are your two best options.

The first starts at $449 and the second at $429. Let’s take a look at the main differences between the two phones. Depending on your priorities, one may turn out to be a much better deal than the other.

The Galaxy A53 comes with a plastic back with a smooth matte finish, just like its predecessor the Galaxy A52, but it’s not as premium as the iPhone SE 3 with its glass back. If in-hand feel matters a lot to you, the iPhone is the one for you, especially if you like small phones.

Speaking of in-hand feel, the iPhone SE also has much better haptic feedback than the Galaxy A53. However, the latter has much stronger Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front while the former uses the same glass found on the iPhone 8 from 2017.

You get a total of five cameras on the Galaxy A53 and two cameras on the iPhone SE 3, which means there are no ultra-wide or macro shots on the latter. When it comes to the main camera, you can be sure that both will take great pictures.

The display is perhaps the most noticeable difference between the Galaxy A53 and the iPhone SE 3. The former has everything you’d expect from a 2022 mid-range phone display: AMOLED colors, frame rate 120Hz refresh, thin bezels, and Gorilla Glass. protection.
