The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) announced
that tennis legend Venus Williams will serve as the keynote speaker for the ASTA
Global Convention 2024.
Held in Dallas, Texas, at the Hilton Anatole on May 29-31, Williams
will host a fireside Q&A session, where she will speak on her
entrepreneurial journey as a female leader across wellness, fashion, design and
more.
The decorated tennis champion and entrepreneur will
highlight how she parlayed her finely tuned business acumen into successful
business ventures, such as V Starr, Happy Viking and EleVen by Venus Williams.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Venus Williams speak at
our annual Global Convention next year,” ASTA CEO Zane Kerby said. “Not only
has Ms. Williams inspired countless people with her play on the tennis court,
but in her second career, she has embraced the exact same hardworking and
innovative spirit that drives our travel advisor community as well.”
For those who plan to attend next year’s convention, the
ASTA announced that Southwest Airlines would offer a 30 percent discount on
flights to Dallas via a code that will be made available this summer.
ASTA Global Convention 2024 will coincide with Global Travel
Advisor Month and feature several marquee events, including a welcome reception
hosted by Carnival Cruise Line and the annual Advocacy Dinner on May 31.
