Tips to Upsell Clients and Create Great Vacation Packages

It can seem daunting to ask a client to spend more money but when you know that it's something that they will love, it is at least worth recommending. That is the art of the upsell: Making the right suggestions that will make their vacation the best for them. It is one of the surest ways that travel advisors can demonstrate their value--even though it may cost clients more out of their pocketbook.

Upselling is not just a way to get higher commissions. It is how you keep clients coming back to book more vacations with you and how you build their trust, making upselling a win for advisors and clients. 

Add Tours and Excursions

Some of the ways that travel advisors can enhance vacation packages are to include extras. Encourage clients to explore beyond their hotel and book exciting excursions, day trips and tours. Oftentimes, these lead travelers to have a more well-rounded vacation and learn more about the destination that they are visiting. They will come away from their trip feeling more connected to the destination and it could even lead to them returning--and hopefully booking with you once again.
