The Florida Keys & Key West is bolstering airlift and unveiling new and renovated hotels as it celebrates its bicentennial this year.
On airline front, a slate of carriers are scheduled to bolster service. JetBlue will resume nonstop service on October 29 to Key West International Airport (EYW) from Boston Logan International Airport, and daily nonstop service in January.
American Airlines will add a second daily nonstop flight to EYW from Washington Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on November 5, and Delta Air Lines is set to resume nonstop winter service to EWY from New York’s LaGuardia Airport on the same date.
United Airlines, meanwhile, is scheduled debut two daily nonstop flights from Newark Liberty International Airport
United is to operate two daily nonstop flights to EYW from Newark Liberty International Airport, on November 28 and nonstop flights to EYW from Chicago O’Hare, Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental and Washington D.C.’s Dulles international airports on December 21.
Key West International Airport Concourse A is in the midst of expansion, which is scheduled for completion, by 2025,
On the accommodations front, the 24-unit Flamingo lodge at Everglades National Parks is set to debut on November 1. The lodge features studios and one- and two-bedroom suites equipped with kitchenettes and balconies, which overlook the Florida Bay
The 125-unit Faro Blanco Resort in Marathon is in the midst of a facelift to transform to the Faro Blanco Resort, a Curio Collection by Hilton, in late 2023.
The 311-room Casa Marina Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton, is undergoing a significant renovation, which will be unveiled in fall 2023. The refit includes renovated accommodations, food-and-beverage enhancements and a 5,000-square-foot oceanfront event lawn and renovated piers for water sports and other activities.
