The Best Adventure Activities in the Dominican Republic

Travelers can hike into ancient caves where the country's first inhabitants left behind petroglyphs and pictographs. There are several spots to explore these underground wonders, including Los Tres Ojos National Park, just outside of Santo Domingo and Cueva de Las Maravillas near La Romana. 

Canyoning and repelling are popular activities for adventure travelers visiting the Dominican Republic. Popular locales include the canyons at Baiguate Falls and Salto el Limon in Samana.
