MGM Resorts issued the following update regarding the normal operation of its hotels and casinos on Wednesday:

"We are pleased that all of our hotels and casinos are operating normally. Our amazing employees are ready to help guests with any intermittent issues. We thank you for your patience and look forward to welcoming you soon.

Please note that Slot Dollars and FREEPLAY are available at all properties. MGM Rewards members' accounts will be adjusted to reflect Tier Credits and MGM Rewards points at a later date. MGM Rewards points redemption and certain promotional offers may be unavailable. Please see the MGM Rewards desk or your Casino Host for more details."

MGM Resorts recently confirmed that it was the target of a cyber attack impacting multiple hotel properties.

"MGM Resorts recently identified a cybersecurity issue affecting some of the company's systems," the company said in a statement on Monday.

"Promptly after detecting the issues, we quickly began an investigation with assistance from leading external cybersecurity experts. We also notified law enforcement and took prompt action to protect our systems and data, including shutting down certain systems."

"Our resorts, including dining, entertainment and gaming are currently operational. Our guests remain able to access their hotel rooms."

Citing two sources familiar with the matter, Reuters reported that a hacking group known as Scattered Spider was responsible for the breach, which U.S. law enforcement officials have already launched an investigation into.

"We continue to work diligently to resolve our cybersecurity issue while addressing individual guest needs promptly," MGM said in a statement on Thursday. "We couldn't do this without the thousands of incredible employees who are committed to guest service and support from our loyal customers. Thank you for your continued patience."
