There is nothing like traveling on an adults-only vacation.
You feel relaxation start to hit as soon as you walk out your front door, and as
soon as you arrive at your destination vacation mode instantly takes hold.
Over
the past couple of years, I’ve traveled for business and have taken family
vacations, but my wife Teresa and I hadn’t had the opportunity to experience an
adults-only trip for just the two of us in a long time. Our 10-year wedding anniversary was the perfect occasion for us to get away for a few days on a
romantic and relaxing vacation.
Our favorite type of travel is vacationing at an all-inclusive
resort. There are so many options all over the Caribbean and Mexico. We’ve stayed at quite a few over the
years, either on family vacations or adults-only trips. However, the challenge for us this time was
that we could only travel domestically. Where can you find an all-inclusive
escape with crystal-clear waters, stunning sunsets, high-quality cuisine, and
ultimate privacy in the U.S.? Well, I’m about to tell you.
Just over an hour’s drive south of Miami International
Airport, in the Florida Keys sits Bungalows Key Largo, a beautiful resort surrounded by lush
tropical vegetation and the soothing sounds of nature. Indeed, when we arrived
for our three-night stay we felt as if we had been transported to a secluded
Caribbean Island.
Our bungalow was perfectly appointed with every amenity we
could have asked for, including a plush king-size bed, a spacious bathroom with
a walk-in shower, and the most beautiful, private outdoor veranda with a huge
soaking tub and refreshing outdoor shower.
The attention to detail throughout
the room was finished off with an assortment of premium cheeses and a top-tier
bottle of red wine.
The elegant and relaxing bungalow was amazing but when it
comes to dining, Bungalows Key Largo far exceeded our expectations. There are a
plethora of choices, including a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Fish Tales,
that offers a selection of fresh and whole wholesome breakfast, lunch, and
dinner options. As Teresa adheres to a gluten-free diet, we were delighted to discover
an abundance of menu options that catered to her dietary needs. We had
breakfast at Fish Tales every morning.
The seaside restaurant Sea Senor was our favorite place to
enjoy the views while we immersed ourselves in the essence of Coastal Mexican
cuisine. Here, your senses will be captivated as you indulge in the delightful
combination of fresh local seafood and the vibrant flavors Mexico is renowned
for.
Just when we thought that the culinary experience couldn’t
get any better, we had dinner at Bogie & Bacall’s. Its steakhouse
menu features prime steaks and seafood dishes inspired by the Florida Keys. All the dishes
were prepared with a blend of flavors, artful presentation, and the use of locally
sourced ingredients.
We also hung out by the pool and had lunch at The Sunset Tiki Bar, which is a terrific spot to unwind and enjoy
a casual meal while taking in the stunning views of the water.
One of the highlights of our stay was a catamaran sunset cruise,
during which we were lucky enough to see a couple of playful dolphins swimming
alongside the boat.
Of course, no vacation at Bungalows Key Largo would be complete
without a visit to the Zen Garden Spa. The spa offers luxurious treatments that
truly pamper the senses. We relaxed in the soothing eucalyptus steam room and
rejuvenated in the tranquil Himalayan salt room while we waited for our
massages. As we made our way to the massage rooms, it felt like entering a
serene and enchanting garden. The ambiance was truly magical, and the entire
spa experience, including the massage, was pure bliss.
In just three short days, Bungalows Key Largo truly provided the ideal
backdrop for our anniversary getaway and surpassed all expectations. From the
moment we set foot on the resort, we were embraced in a world of beauty, privacy,
and luxury. The stunning natural surroundings, exquisite bungalows, and
impeccable attention to detail created an atmosphere of pure relaxation and
romance. The culinary experience at the resort’s diverse restaurants delighted
our taste buds, while the catamaran sunset cruise and encounters with playful
dolphins added a touch of adventure and enchantment to our stay.
As Teresa and I reflect on our time there, we find ourselves
eagerly planning our next visit. The best part? No passport is required for
this slice of paradise. With anticipation and excitement, we simply cannot wait
to return for another unforgettable adults-only vacation at Bungalows Key
Largo.
