A few bad apples can unfortunately ruin things for all of us.
That’s what happened in the small town of Pomfret, Vermont.
Residents of the town raised over $16,000 to fund a road closure to Sleepy Hollow Farm – a popular fall foliage spot – in order to keep out disrespectful social media influencers and tourists. The road was closed to non-residents this peak fall season.
This time of year makes for stunning photographs in beautiful scenic places around the country.
But it’s important to remain respectful of our surroundings.
The bumpy hayrides, the pumpkin patches filled with all things fall, and the changing colors of the leaves make the autumn season ripe for fun weekend getaways.
Many small towns fill up on the weekends with day travelers coming to experience these things, but sadly some people forget how to behave in public and think the world revolves around them.
Anyone destroying property or being rude to local residents working these popular venues is better off staying at home.
Why ruin the experience for others?
I certainly hope no other small towns feel the need to essentially ban tourists from experiencing the beauty their home has to offer.
Should other towns ban influencers?
