Currency
The official currency in Belize is the Belize Dollar. However, US Dollars are accepted in Belize.
So if you’re traveling from the U.S., you won’t have to trade in your US Dollars, making travel just that much easier.
National Languages
Since Belize was a former British colony (formerly British Honduras), English has remained the primary language in the country.
However, Belize is a melting pot of culture and language, with many locals being multilingual. There are about ten languages spoken in Belize, including Creole, Spanish, as well as Mayan languages such as Q'eqchi' Maya and Yucatec Mayan. There’s even an African-based language called Garifuna.
Climate And Weather
Belize’s lush rainforests paint the perfect picture of a tropical climate. The rainy season runs from May until October, while the sunny, dry season runs from November to April.
The warmest month of the year is generally August, with the average temperature reaching around 87°F. The coolest time of the year is usually January, with average temperatures reaching around 75°F.
May to November is the rainy season, with possible hurricanes.
