Atlas Ocean Voyages named explorer Preet Chandi godmother of World Voyager, which is scheduled to enter service in in November 2023.
World Voyager will be christened in Ushuaia, Argentina, on Nov. 8.
Preet Candi, a physiotherapist and British army captain, “gained international recognition in 2022 when she completed a remarkable solo expedition across Antarctica to the South Pole,” Atlas Ocean Voyages said.
“In January 2023, she further solidified her place in polar exploration history by recording the longest-ever solo and unsupported one-way polar ski expedition.
“Her outstanding achievements were acknowledged when she was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2022 Birthday Honors.”
World Voyager will sail on its inaugural voyage, a nine-day “Antarctic Discovery” expedition, following the ship’s christening.
“We are honored to have Preet Chandi as the godmother of World Voyager,” said Atlas Ocean Voyages President and CEO James Rodriguez. expressed his excitement.
“Her incredible accomplishments in polar exploration align perfectly with our commitment to immersive and adventurous travel experiences.”
Like its sisters World Traveller and World Navigator, World Voyager will sail on nine- to 14- night to Antarctica itineraries roundtrip from Ushuaia.
